Curriculum and Transition To School Program

The Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) is the national learning framework for Australia. Our educators aim to extend and enrich children’s learning from birth to the transition to school process.

Program & Curriculum

We provide more than just childcare, and our program is designed with a holistic approach that is inclusive of education, physical health and the emotional well-being of every child in our care to evolve to their full potential and develop a love for lifelong learning.

We see family as the most influential person and teacher in a child’s life and we value a strong partnership with families and the community that we are part of. Through Strong active partnerships and communications with families is means we can understand and meet every child’s and family’s needs.

Nursery

Our nursery is a safe, nurturing space

Care and play will be a vital part of the children’s day in the nursery. Early Childhood Educators are focused on connecting with each child and developing relationship’s.

Children will be invited to play and explore with access to a variety of open-ended materials. This room is the foundation of building self-confidence, curiosity and developing a passion for learning. Educators trust in babies to be capable and competent learners and our qualified early childhood educators build secure and reciprocal relationships with the children and environments for the children to explore, learn and develop.

Our educators have been trained in positive sleep practises through ‘Safe Sleep Space’ to support safe, nurturing sleeps.

Toddler

As part of the toddler room program the children will be connecting with nature and learning to regulate their emotions as they grow.

This room is a supportive environment with lots of invitations to engage in play-based learning to explore and discover.  We aim to foster creativity, discovery and independence while offering an environment to explore, solve problems, create, construct and socialise with their educators and peers

Preschool

At Evolve ELC  our preschool program is designed  by University degree qualified Early Childhood Teacher’s to promote the individual needs of each child in the following learning areas

  • Literacy & Language
  • Science & technology (STEM)
  • Numeracy
  • Health & Well-being
  • Sustainability
  • Creative Arts – Music, Dramatic Play, Art
  • Independence skills
  • Social Development
  • History & Culture

Learning is in every experience the children participate in through structured and unstructured learning. Intentional teaching strategies used by Qualified Early Childhood educators enhance children’s learning experiences with educators using teaching strategies such as demonstrating, open ended questioning, shared thinking, and problem solving

It is our fundamental belief that life skills are just as important to teach as academic teaching for children especially between the ages of 2 – 6,  Families enrolled at our service will see their child involved in many life teaching experiences these include

  • Assisting educators to cut fruit for morning tea & afternoon tea
  • Being encouraged to ‘rinse’ & ‘scrape’ their own dishes before & after meal times
  • Being involved in cooking experiences for our Morning tea & Afternoon tea
  • Getting assigned ‘ jobs’ each morning such as feeding our class pets or assisting with post meal clean up’s
  • Educators encouraging the children to look after their own belongings and taking responsibility to ‘put things in their bags, lockers, pack their bags’
  • Making their own beds & packing away their own sheets ect
  • Learning about becoming socially responsible and showing respect for their environment through our every day use of our worm farm, compost and coloured recycling bins.

EYLF

Our curriculum is designed and guided by the EYLF.

Our program is embedded in play. Evidence-based research shows children learn best through play. So every experience the children participate in at Evolve, whether it’s structured or unstructured learning, is founded in play.
